.H.A.L.L.O.W.E.E.N. .2.0.1.1.

farewell october. you were wonderful but i can't say i'm too sorry to see you go. we started decorating/carving/candy-eating/spiderman-costume-wearing-everywhere really early this year so i'm happy to pack away the bats and welcome november - which will bring atticus' birthday, a visit from sharla and dal, thanksgiving and let's be honest, probably another baby (i doubt she'll stay put until december. have i already mentioned that darek's shooting for an 11-11-11 baby? um, that's only ten days...maybe not.) i was thinking i should do myself a favor and have a treat-free month. but then again about two minutes before that i was thinking how i wish someone important and influential had declared halloween 2011 as a twix-handing-out only year. and maybe reese's peanut butter cups because what's halloween without reese's? anywho, here are the final halloween 2011 pictures (once again, there are many. i promise i won't check my stats to make sure you viewed each and every photo. you might be missing out tho if you don't...just saying...)

first a little photo shoot in the backyard in an attempt to get the boys in their spidey masks

Photobucket

atticus complied
(beck did not)

Photobucket

shooting spider webs
atticus decided that anytime he pushed the spiderman symbol on his chest
webs would come shooting from his hands

Photobucket

this was one of the more creative web shooting poses

Photobucket

then he took off his mask to once again reveal his scary make-up, and did scary poses

Photobucket

the anti-mask beck was still a real cute spiderman

Photobucket

here he is shooting his own webs
complete with "shhhhhoooo" sound effects

Photobucket

then the brave and mighty spidermen sized up their enemy

Photobucket

the very scary and creepy dracula-type guy

Photobucket

full assault

Photobucket

and sweet triumph

Photobucket

more sweet triumphing

Photobucket

then is was time to hit the streets for treats
classic faces: atticus staring, beckett "cheesing"

Photobucket

and dracula creeping

Photobucket

we got lots of "take one piece only please" bowls since other families were out t&t-ing too.
this one was particularly funny warning us "i'll be watching" and in fact had their phone
set up in the window recording people! we waved after taking our one piece only.
another house had a sign instructing one piece only
and reminding us that "santa's watching."
clever

Photobucket

beck was not amused that this fully decorated door did not answer his trick-or-treat call

Photobucket

ok so a titch mushy mommy stuff for a minute - but i about couldn't stand watching beck treat-or-treat. he was just so darling and tiny and moving so slow motion behind the big boys running door to door. he melted my heart. i know i'm extra melty lately because i'm soon to have a baby...and beck won't be my baby anymore. and i can kind of hardly not stand it. i know i went through all this with atticus too while expecting beck, so i can tell myself that it all works out magnificently. but little beck. my little babe. so bitter sweet to watch them grow up.

Photobucket

the kids got a kick out of the big blow ups throughout the hood

Photobucket

very large spider + two little spidermen

Photobucket

it's funny how often people made sure that i got candy for "the little one" too
of course, they were referring to the unborn fetus i am currently incubating
these particular dum-dums came from a man who spied me from his doorway
and came running out to make sure the little one didn't feel left out
i wish i could have told them that she's really only in the mood for twix these days
but i still appreciated the gesture

Photobucket

i don't really have anything to say about this picture...
perhaps you do?

Photobucket

beck really loved this truly las vegas-ish dessert cactus halloween thingie.
like really loved it. he wouldn't walk away. so much so that the owner asked
if i wanted to come over today and pick it up since this is it's last year gracing his yard.

cactus?
halloween?
(confession: i am something of an anti-cacti)

i smiled
and politely declined

Photobucket

this is where beck ended his evening
atop his pop, sucking a lolli

Photobucket

and this is where i ended mine
boys atop my belly

and fyi - i walked and walked and walked (much like the pioneer children)
earlier in the day forgetting that i'd be walking and walking and walking all evening t&t-ing
and the uterus was not happy by bedtime. TMI, you say? true. but perhaps she'll be shooting for 11-11-11 afterall.

Photobucket

so halloween did leak just a bit into november today when atticus' school had a little halloween party for the kids (b/c they don't have school on mondays.) we did one more spidermany round of trick-or-treating at his school, little marshmallow brother included. it was cute. and real fun. and i took some pictures on the little camera but can't find the chord but perhaps you're a little pictured out? (never!) thanks for reading!

happy halloween!

Bryan mentioned that to me last night too. How about you have the baby on 11-11-11. I said yeah didn't think that would happen since that would make me 4 1/2 weeks early and I don't think the dr would be too happy if I went that early. We are shooting for my dad's birthday on the 26th of Nov since that will make me 2 1/2 weeks early. My baby wasn't too happy after trick or treating either even though I fed it chocolate all night long. Hope you got some rest.
